Saxon
I am, I suppose, by reason of age and experience, the matriarch of the "white Shepherd" movement in Australia. I began the first Australian club for the white German Shepherd Dogs after buying my beloved white male, Saxon (see insert) from my son in 1997. Before I had Saxon, way back in the 1970's, I had two coloured German Shepherd Dogs, both of whom were grandsons of the famous English Crufts winner Rossforth Premonition. I saw my first German Shepherd Dog in a park in England in the 1950's when as a little girl I asked the owner and my dad if I could pat him. I fell in love with the breed then, and the love affair continues. Although I began with owning coloured German Shepherd Dogs I really like the white ones for their softer temperaments and also for their conformation, which is like the original straight-backed German Shepherd Dogs.
In 2011 I made the move to White Swiss Shepherds same breed- (with slight differences) different name.
The White Swiss Shepherds have nothing in them but white German Shepherd Dogs, however, because they were pedigreed in Europe, Australian buyers have to buy dogs from Europe or from pedigreed European bloodlines in Australia, and one cannot ethically, as some white German Shepherd Dog breeders are doing in Australia, sell puppies as White Swiss Shepherds that are white German Shepherds. This is fraud. When you are buying a puppy check that the puppy has an A.N.K.C. pedigree and not just a club pedigree. Lady Shepherd
